Mattei Motorsports opens up online
gift shop at www.matteimotorsports.com

HARRISBURG, N.C. (Sept. 15, 1999) - Official Mattei Motorsports and Michael
Waltrip merchandise is now available online at the team's official website,
www.matteimotorsports.com.

 The team, which fields the No. 7 Philips Chevrolet for Waltrip in the
NASCAR Winston Cup Series, launched its site back in April without an
"online gift shop."  But, many of the early visitors to the site expressed
an interest in the opportunity to support the team by purchasing merchandise
over the internet.

 Fans can now show their support for the Philips Racing Team by obtaining
any number of items available online.  Some of those items include t-shirts,
sweatshirts, hats, bumper stickers, can coolers, key rings, hat pins and
seat cushions.

 In addition to the Mattei Motorsports website, fans can also obtain
merchandise in other ways, as well.   Sports Design, which handles the
design, production and marketing of all the team's merchandise, offers
online shopping through its website at www.sportsdesign.com, and also
accepts orders by phone at (800) 796-8989.  Fans attending NASCAR Winston
Cup events around the country can also purchase items from the Philips
Racing Team souvenir transporter.
