Energy Partners Announces New Vice President of Business Development in Conjunction With Commercialization and Expansion Program
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--Sept. 16, 1999--Energy Partners, L.C. a leading fuel cell technology company today announced the appointment of Douglas J. Weinberg as Vice President of Business Development in conjunction with the company's commercialization and expansion of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cell Technology.Mr. Weinberg joins Energy Partners with twenty years of business development experience, the last ten years within the electric and gas utility industry. Most recently Weinberg was at New York State Electric & Gas Corporation where he was director of Business Development. There he had responsibilities for mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and new business development.
Prior to his position with NY State Gas & Electric, Weinberg held several positions with the unregulated affiliates of Wisconsin Power & Light, which is now a part of Alliant Energy. There he oversaw the company's unregulated financial services activities, mergers & acquisitions efforts and other business development activities.
Mr. Weinberg joins Energy Partners to advance the company's plan for expansion and commercialization of PEM fuel cell technology. He will be in charge of business development, including the formation of strategic alliances and joint ventures, as well as corporate planning activities. The arrival of Mr. Weinberg is indicative of Energy Partners' current efforts to move the company's fuel cell products to market. The company will be aggressively seeking energy distribution companies as well as other key industry players to partner in the distribution of stationary fuel cell products to residential and small commercial customers.
Since 1985 Energy Partners has been at the forefront of PEM fuel cell development. The company has developed stationary power systems for the single family residential and small commercial business markets using a variety of fuels.
