UAW and DaimlerChrysler Reach Tentative Agreement

Tentative agreement covers more than 70,000 workers in the United States

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 16 / -- UAW President Stephen P. Yokich and 
DaimlerChrysler President Tom Stallkamp announced this morning that the UAW 
has reached tentative agreement with DaimlerChrysler on new contracts covering 
more than 70,000 hourly and salaried workers at DaimlerChrysler facilities in 
the United States.

    Details of the tentative new agreements are being withheld pending
ratification votes by the UAW DaimlerChrysler membership.
