Goodyear Selects ON Command CCM: ON Technology's Solution Will be Used to Automate and Accelerate the Roll-Out of SAP Business Application Software
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--Sept. 16, 1999--ON Technology Corporation announced that the North America Tire business unit of The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company has purchased ON Command CCM(TM), the leading solution for managing and configuring software.This agreement occurred in conjunction with Goodyear's deployment of SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing) software in the North America Tire business unit. ON Command CCM's unattended installation and configuration technology enables Goodyear to automate the roll-out of the SAP application software without requiring technician or end-user intervention.
SAP is the world leader in the provision of portals, software, and services enabling corporations in any industry and of all sizes to do business on the Internet. SAP's software will link all business processes on a multilingual and multinational level, enabling the whole corporate enterprise to run more proficiently. SAP is the largest supplier of business applications software in the world and is the top software vendor in Germany. ON Command CCM will streamline and accelerate the deployment of this complex business solution by leveraging all of the installation and customization features developed by SAP. Utilizing ON Command CCM's native installation technology, the automated installation of SAP software can be personalized and configured for every individual client system, while being deployed to multiple systems simultaneously.
