Visteon Pumps Up Presence in Aftermarket With Opening of New Center in Germany
FRANKFURT, Germany, Sept. 15 -- Visteon Automotive Systems is
intensifying its efforts to become a leading aftermarket brand in Europe with
the opening of a new aftermarket product center in Morfelden-Walldorf near
Frankfurt, Germany.
The center will handle all of Visteon's European aftermarket activities,
including contracts, orders and technical assistance on product systems such
as multimedia, heating and cooling, air conditioning, and steering. Visteon
has invested over $2 million to ensure that the facility uses state-of-the-art
hardware and software technology to handle customer inquiries and meet their
needs quickly and efficiently.
"We want to ensure that in the future, not only do people link Visteon to
the first point of sales but also to the commerce of high-tech products beyond
the initial purchase," said Erik Lundtoft, Visteon's European director of
aftermarket operations. "To fulfill the role of an aftermarket service
supplier, it is imperative that we maintain contact with the end user."
Visteon's European aftermarket office will be supported by existing and
planned sales offices in Paris, Turin, Coventry, Prague, Munich, Wolfsburg and
Gothenburg. The aftermarket center will also manage the logistics for a large
warehouse distribution center located near the Amsterdam Shiphol Airport in
the Netherlands.
A technical and sales office to handle new customers such as General
Motors and Adam Opel AG will be located next to the aftermarket product center
in Morfelden-Walldorf and will employ engineers, technicians and account
managers to work on customer programs.
With a global delivery system of more than 125 technical, manufacturing,
sales and service facilities located in 21 countries, Visteon Automotive
Systems is leveraging the talents of its 77,000 employees to deliver
innovative, consumer-driven systems solutions to its customers.
