15 September 1999

I.D. Systems Receives Order from Ford Motor Co. Further Expanding Use of I.D. Systems Technology at Ford
    NEW YORK, Sept. 15 -- I.D. Systems, Inc. , a
leader in wireless monitoring systems for industry, today announced that it
received an order from Ford Motor Co. to install the system in its Advanced
Manufacturing Technology Division (a.k.a.: AMTD) in Detroit, MI. The Advanced
Manufacturing Technology Division is a showcase for Ford's advanced
manufacturing systems.
Kenneth Ehrman, I.D. Systems president, said, "The significance of this
follow-on order is a validation of our technology and the competitive
enhancements it provides. We are extremely pleased that Ford is ordering more
units, and importantly, that it has experienced enhanced and increased
workflow within its facilities. We look forward to expanding our relationship
as Ford continues recording greater operating efficiencies throughout its
system."
Ford monitors its material handling vehicles using I.D. Systems radio
frequency-based technology, allowing managers to track vehicle locations to
increase plant safety, monitor regular maintenance schedules and ensure
compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
guidelines for fleet drivers.
Ehrman continued, "Ford's association with I.D. Systems is the result of
its desire to maintain control over its vast fleet of material handling
vehicles. Our system is an enabling technology, one which eliminates much of
the guess work and exposure associated with maintaining such a large material
handling fleet. Not only can Ford monitor operator authorization, but the
system enables it to operate within OSHA safety standards and more efficiently
conduct routine maintenance programs."
Based in New York, NY, I.D. Systems designs, develops and produces a
wireless monitoring and tracking system that uses radio frequency technology.
Its system can monitor, track, analyze and control the movement of virtually
any object, including vehicles, equipment and packages. Principal customers
to date include the United States Postal Service, Federal Express Corporation,
Avis Rent A Car System, Inc., Ford Motor Corporation, Hallmark Cards, Inc.,
QVC Inc. and World Color Press, Inc.
