Texaco/Havoline to Continue Sponsorship of Robert Yates Racing Through 2004

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Sept. 13, 1999-- Texaco/Havoline today announced it will remain the primary sponsor of the Robert Yates Racing Team and its famed No. 28 Texaco/Havoline Ford Taurus through the 2004 NASCAR season.
In making the announcement, Texaco's Director of Sponsorships Mike Hargrave said, "Robert Yates' reputation for achieving excellence is well known among the NASCAR racing fraternity and its knowledgeable fans. We are proud to be associated with this outstanding team which embodies the same spirit of excellence and top performance to which Texaco is committed.
"Our relationship with Robert and the Robert Yates Racing team is a valuable asset for Texaco. This sponsorship continues to set Texaco and our products apart from other energy companies."
Texaco has been involved with racing since 1917 and feels there is no better place to showcase the excellent quality of Texaco products than at America's No. 1 spectator sport. Texaco is committed to providing customers with products that have been tested and proven under the most demanding conditions - including the grueling performance requirements of the racetrack. As a result, customers can purchase the same Havoline Formula3(TM) Motor Oil used by Texaco-sponsored race teams.
Texaco/Havoline has served as the primary sponsor of the well-known No. 28 car since 1987, when Harry Ranier owned the race team. On October 1, 1988, Robert Yates purchased the team and the number "28" from Ranier, and he assumed the Texaco/Havoline sponsorship.
