Tracks: Lebanon Valley hosts final show of 1999 with $1,000 Cannonball

11 September 1999

WEST LEBANON, NY-It is hard to believe that it has been almost six months
since the 1999 racing season began at Lebanon Valley. It is harder to believe
we are writing about the last racing program at the speedway for 1999.

Saturday night, September 18th, DICKS AUTOMOTIVE & SPEED'S GARAGE will
proudly host the last night of competition at Lebanon Valley for 1999. The
main attraction on the racing card will be the ONE THOUSAND-DOLLAR to win
cannonball run event. Lebanon Valley has hosted cannonball run races for many
seasons and they are always a lot of fun to watch. It gives the average fan a
chance to compete on the high banks of the West Lebanon oval. For very little
money, men and women get the thrill of a lifetime. It is also fun to have
friends and families come to the track to cheer for the friends.

The cannonball run race is not the only program on the card Saturday,
September 18th. The Rookies and Pure Stock will also be on hand to bring
their 1999 season to and end. These two entry-level divisions also put on a
great show at the Valley. The abundance of Pure Stock racers means there is
usually three separate features. Some weeks we had FOUR features for this
very popular division. If you are interesting in competing in the rookies or
pure stock the speedway has a list of rules to help you on your way. Many of
today's big name drivers whether on dirt or asphalt had to start somewhere.
For you that could mean a rookie or pure stock ride to get you on your way.
