Quixote Corporation Announces Retirement of Philip E. Rollhaus, Jr. and Promotion of Leslie J. Jezuit to Chief Executive Officer
CHICAGO---Sept. 8, 1999--Quixote Corporation (QUIX) today announced the retirement of Philip E. Rollhaus, Jr. as Chief Executive Officer of the Company effective September 30, 1999.Mr. Rollhaus will remain on the Board of Directors and will continue to serve as its Chairman. Leslie J. Jezuit has been named to succeed Mr. Rollhaus as Chief Executive Officer and will continue to perform all of the functions of President and Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Rollhaus, who will be 65 years old this month, founded Quixote Corporation over 30 years ago and has successfully led the Company since that time to its present status as the world's leading manufacturer of energy-absorbing highway crash cushions and other highway safety products and services. Since 1969, an estimated 30,000 lives have been saved by the Company's highway crash cushions.
Mr. Jezuit, 53, joined Quixote Corporation as President and Chief Operating Officer in December of 1995 after four years with Robertshaw Controls where he also served as President and Chief Operating Officer. He has more than 28 years of experience in manufacturing, marketing and product development at major U.S. corporations.
Philip E. Rollhaus, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "I and the Board of Directors envisioned Les Jezuit's eventual succession to Chief Executive Officer when he was hired more than three years ago and we have great faith in his abilities to perform all of the necessary duties of both Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
