CAW's Hargrove to Announce Big Three Bargaining Target Wednesday

    TORONTO, Sept. 7 /CNW-PRN/ - CAW president Buzz Hargrove will announce
the target company in the current round of bargaining with the Big Three
automakers on Wednesday, September 8 at 10 a.m. in the Royal York hotel's
Ontario Room on the Convention Floor. The Royal York is located at 100 Front
Street West in Toronto.
    Hargrove will make the announcement at a meeting of the CAW bargaining
committees of GM, Ford and DaimlerChrysler.
    After bargaining a contract with the target company the union uses the
settlement as a pattern for contract talks with the other two automakers.
    Contracts covering approximately 49,000 CAW members as well as 33,000
retirees and surviving spouses at General Motors, Ford and DaimlerChrysler
expire Sept. 21.
