Auto Allies and AAA Carolinas Announce Partnership
    CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 7 -- Auto Allies, a division of
Charlotte-based AutoBase Information Systems and a subsidiary of BB&T
Corporation , today announced an agreement with AAA Carolinas that
will provide a new way for auto buyers and sellers in the Carolinas to find,
buy and list vehicles using the Internet.
    The new partnership will link Auto Allies' national on-line vehicle
inventory, known as eFuel, with the AAA Carolinas web site, aaacarolinas.com .
Soon, AAA members nationwide will have access to eFuel.
    AutoBase Information Systems has spent the past four years developing the
eFuel platform, which now consists of a database of more than 200,000 new and
used vehicles from dealers and private owners across the country.
    "Our new alliance with AAA Carolinas allows us to leverage a well
respected consumer brand, and opens up significant marketing advantages for
AAA clubs across the United States," said Bob Brooks, president of AutoBase
Information Systems.
    AAA Carolinas, with 1 million members, is the 10th largest AAA Motor Club
in the country.  AAA Carolinas is a non-profit, service organization offering
travel, automotive and financial information, services and benefits to members
and non-members.  AAA has 43 million members nationwide.
