American Honda to Use Ariba Business-to-Business-Commerce Solution

American Honda to Use Ariba Business-to-Business-Commerce Solution, Ariba Network
    SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 7 -- Ariba, Inc. , the
leader in business-to-business electronic commerce solutions for operating
resources, today announced that American Honda Motor Co., Inc. has signed an
agreement to use the Ariba(R) eCommerce solution and the Ariba Network(TM)
service for the company's electronic accounting and purchasing needs.
    Running on the Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) operating system and the
Microsoft SQL Server database at American Honda, the Ariba eCommerce solution
provides companies with the ability to electronically route requests for
operating resources and supporting documents, and communicate orders directly
to suppliers.  The Ariba Network service allows companies to issue electronic
purchase orders and receive electronic order status from their suppliers using
emerging eCommerce standards such as Commerce Extensible Markup Language
(cXML).
