Dealer Advisory Board Established by Autoweb.com to Share Best Practices
New Direct-to-Consumer Channel Shaped by Board

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 7 -- A Dealer Advisory Board was
inaugurated recently by Autoweb.com , the leading consumer
automotive Internet service, as a forum for discussing and implementing
progressive strategies for Internet automobile retailing.
Leading Member Dealers from throughout the country are participating in
the new Advisory Board, providing Autoweb.com an opportunity to strengthen the
Company's partnership with its Member Dealer network, and furthering its goal
of continually improving the automobile purchase experience for both dealers
and their customers. The Board is composed of dealers representing a variety
of geographic regions -- from Eden Prairie, Minnesota to New York City -- who
share a common desire to learn and implement progressive retailing strategies
on the Web.
"The Dealer Advisory Board provides an excellent opportunity for dealers
throughout the U.S. to come together and discuss innovative new concepts for
online retailing," said David Greene, vice president of dealer network
operations at Autoweb.com. "The Board has already been instrumental in
strengthening our relationships with dealers, enabling us to better serve the
Autoweb.com customer by providing superior service and a better buying
experience."
The most recent Dealer Advisory Board meeting, held in San Jose,
California, explored the best online selling practices of the attending
dealerships as well as those from other top-performing Autoweb.com member
dealers nationwide. One key area of discussion was Autoweb.com's
direct-to-consumer sales channel, which will help the growing need for dealers
to sell more cars through the Internet. This direct-to-consumer channel
enables Autoweb.com to shepherd the entire car-buying process for the
customer, in partnership with Autoweb.com's dealers, without excluding them
from the final transaction. Board members support this new channel and are
helping to fine tune its implementation.
The Dealer Advisory Board also provided input to Autoweb.com's recent
acquisition of SalesEnhancer.com, a sales lead management tool.
"The Dealer Advisory Board meeting was an extremely worthwhile learning
experience," said Paul Sarzynski, Internet Manager at Jerome Duncan Ford in
Sterling Heights, Michigan. "It provided valuable insight into the entire
Internet sales process and Autoweb's role as an industry leader in this
field."
