Baldor Receives Two Market Engineering Leadership AwardsFORT SMITH, Ark., Sept. 3 -- Baldor Electric Company , Fort Smith, Arkansas, based marketer, designer, and manufacturer of electric motors and drives recently received two Market Engineering Leadership Awards. The awards were presented to Baldor by Frost & Sullivan, an internationally known market research firm. Baldor was recognized for the company's product innovation and customer service in the industrial electric motors marketplace. Product Innovation Award -- Baldor received the Product Innovation Award. This award is given to the company that has demonstrated excellence in product innovation in the integral horsepower motor market. Baldor's introduction of Inverter Spike Resistant(R) (ISR) wire in all three-phase motors one horsepower and larger was key. According to Frost & Sullivan, "This award recognizes the ability of the company to adopt new technology, develop a well-designed product family, and make significant contributions to the integral horsepower motor market in terms of product performance." Baldor's introduction of ISR wire was an industry first and an excellent example of increasing the value that customers receive in a product. Electric motors wound with ISR wire are up to 100 times more resistant to transient spikes, high frequencies, and short rise time pulses produced by some inverter controls. Customer Service Award -- Baldor also received the Customer Service Award. This award is given to the company that demonstrates superior customer service. In awarding this, Frost & Sullivan said, "Baldor exemplifies the best customer service available today in the integral horsepower motor market. Customer service is defined as the company's ability to build and maintain its customer relationships through fast response, good support, and fair treatment of customer complaints and needs in the marketplace."
