Daewoo Achieves Eighth Month of Sales Increases

    COMPTON, Calif., Sept. 2 -- For the eighth consecutive month
in 1999, Daewoo Motor America has achieved growth over the previous month.
August Sales of Daewoo Automobiles grew 5% over the month of July.
    Daewoo Motor America announces Sales of 3,537 units for the month of
August, seeing a year-to-date total of 17,920.  Over the 26-day sales period,
Leganza continues to lead all models at 1,783 units, with 1,027 Nubiras being
sold and 727 sales of Lanos.
    These sales results were accomplished through total retail distribution of
139 outlets.  Daewoo now operates 45 company owned stores and 94 franchised
dealers in 35 states.
    Daewoo Motor America is the U.S. automotive sales arm of Daewoo Motor
based in Seoul, South Korea.
