I30 Continues To Drive Infiniti Sales; Calendar Year Sales Up 17 Percent Over 1998
CARSON, Calif., Sept. 1 -- Infiniti, the Luxury Division of
Nissan North America, Inc., (NNA) reported sales of 6,448 units during the
month of August, a six percent increase over last month. The August total
brings Infiniti's 1999 calendar-year-sales-to-date to 44,552 units, up 17
percent over 1998.
The I30, Infiniti's volume sales leader, reported 2,814 units sold during
August, up 5.9 percent over last month. The all-new 2000 I30 will become
available at retailers nationwide beginning September 4.
The QX4 remained as Infiniti's second-highest volume seller with 1,890
total sales, representing a 5.6 percent increase over a year ago and 20.6
percent increase over last month.
Infiniti's luxury sports sedan, the G20, posted sales of 1,145 units in
August. The Q45, Infiniti's flagship luxury performance sedan, posted August
sales of 599 units.
Nissan North America, Inc. sales for August, including the Nissan and
Infiniti Divisions, totaled 65,696 units. Combined calendar-year-to-date
sales for Nissan and Infiniti Divisions were 446,420 units, up 4.7 percent
over 1998.
