ROCHESTER, N.Y.--Aug. 31, 1999--Frontier Communications has completed the Application Process for becoming a Certified Service Provider to the Automotive Network eXchange(R) (ANX(R)), a cooperative communications network designed to interconnect 10,000 automotive manufacturers, vendors and suppliers. As an ANX Certified Service Provider, Frontier will supply these businesses with direct, secure, high-speed access to the ANX network."The ANX network signals a new trend in the manufacturing industry," said Donna Reeves, Frontier's president business services. Internet Protocol (IP) network service providers seeking to become ANX Certified Service Providers must meet stringent ANX service quality requirements. The ANX requires 100 percent compliance with its standards for network service features, interoperability, performance, reliability, business continuity and disaster recovery, security, customer care, and trouble handling. Frontier expects to receive ANX Certified Service Provider certification in December.
