AIAG Executes Memorandum of Understanding With Telecordia and SAIC To Further Develop the ANX(R) ServiceSOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 31 -- The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) announced today that is has executed a Memorandum of Understanding with Automotive Network eXchange(R) (ANX(R)) Overseer Telcordia Technologies, Inc. and SAIC -- the parent company of Telcordia -- to further develop the ANX service and its value to subscribers. Under the agreement, SAIC will work with the AIAG to expand the network service to other industries; to streamline ANX processes; and to introduce new value-added services to ANX subscribers. "SAIC's capabilities in security, e-commerce processes and marketing will complement existing ANX initiatives and stakeholders, including our network of certified service providers (CSPs)," said Gary Quick, AIAG executive on loan. "With this new alliance, we are confident the ANX service will achieve its vision as the world's premier, multi-provider, business-to-business e-commerce network." Over the next few months, SAIC will assume leadership of a number of growth initiatives, including a planned transition of overall ANX Program Office management responsibilities to SAIC -- on behalf of AIAG and its member companies. Telcordia will continue its role as the ANX Overseer. The ANX network is a secure, business-quality data communications network that links automotive suppliers and vehicle manufacturers electronically over one multi-provider Virtual Private Network (VPN). The ANX service is designed to meet the security, reliability and performance needs for mission critical data, with ANX connections replacing the complex and limiting communications infrastructure currently used among automotive trading partners. Among the companies that helped drive the development of the ANX network were: Caterpillar, DaimlerChrysler Corp., Dana Corp., Dofasco Inc., Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp., PACCAR, Robert Bosch Corp., TRW Inc. and Lear Corp. (UT Automotive). SAIC is the nation's largest employee-owned research and engineering company, providing information technology and systems integration products and services to government and commercial customers. SAIC scientists and engineers work to solve complex technical problems to telecommunications, national security, health care, transportation, energy, the environment and financial services.
