Dollar Rent A Car Forms Joint Venture in the Middle East

    TULSA, Okla., Aug. 30 -- Dollar Rent A Car Systems, Inc., a
subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. , announced
today it has formed a joint venture with Sixt AG and the Dogmoch Group.  Under
the terms of this alliance, the new joint venture corporation will be granted
exclusive license rights to operate automobile rental, sales and leasing
operations in Middle East countries under the Sixt Rent A Car-Dollar Rent A
Car brands.
    SIXT(R), a major European car rental company based in Germany, and
DOLLAR(R) previously announced a cooperation agreement to exchange
reservations in the territories of their operations, effective March 1, 2000.
The Dogmoch Group specializes in integrating major European companies into
Arab markets.  This joint venture provides franchise rights for Sixt Rent A
Car-Dollar Rent A Car operations in 9 Middle East countries with a combined
population of approximately 300 million.

AG," Gary L. Paxton, DOLLAR president said.  "This joint venture allows both
companies to expand rapidly into new territories.  The Dogmoch Group has
established itself as a premier organization and we consider this an
outstanding opportunity to further our international presence."
    Dollar Rent A Car Systems, Inc. has approximately 370 worldwide locations
in 26 countries, with a significant presence in Australia, Canada, the
Caribbean and Latin America, including 240 locations in the United States.
The Company and its licensees have locations at most major airports across the
nation, and a fleet of more than 70,000 vehicles.  DOLLAR worldwide
headquarters is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
