Chrysler Town & Country Earns Good Housekeeping Institute Women's Automotive Satisfaction Award
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 25 -- More than 15 years after
inventing the minivan, DaimlerChrysler continues to expand its
minivan trophy case. The newest addition is for the Chrysler Town & Country,
which earned the Good Housekeeping Institute Women's Automotive Satisfaction
Award.
"Customer satisfaction is our top priority and to have a prestigious
publication such as Good Housekeeping honor the Chrysler Town & Country
minivan is proof that we are building quality products that meet our
customers' needs," said James P. Holden, DaimlerChrysler's Executive Vice
President of Sales and Marketing and General Manager of Minivan Operations.
"In addition to the Good Housekeeping Institute, consumers are also voting for
Chrysler Town & Country in the marketplace, where sales have increased 102
percent over the past five years."
Eligible entries were measured against benchmark standards established in
a 1998 study of female new vehicle purchasers conducted by J.D. Power and
Associates on behalf of the Good Housekeeping Institute. Chrysler Town &
Country was identified by over 500 female primary drivers as meeting three
criteria. Specifically, female drivers reported they were very satisfied with
their vehicle, would definitely recommend it to a friend, and would definitely
buy it again themselves.
"Chrysler Town & Country exceeded all criteria for the award due to the
fact that women are extremely pleased with the quality, performance and
features of the vehicle," said Patricia Haegele, Senior Vice President and
Publisher of Good Housekeeping. "This is a significant award as it represents
the first time that women will be able to hear from other women about which
vehicles deliver the best performance and best suit their needs."
DaimlerChrysler sells approximately 600,000 minivans worldwide every year
and is quickly closing in on the sale of its eight millionth minivan
worldwide. Despite new competition entering the minivan market last year,
DaimlerChrysler marked its second-best minivan sales year ever by selling
628,471 minivans worldwide.
"It's no coincidence that in addition to having the world's best selling
minivans, we also build the world's most award-winning minivans," said Holden.
"That is real testimony to unparalleled customer satisfaction."
