Michelin to Sponsor SEMA Show * ITE '99 Media Center
    DIAMOND BAR, Calif., Aug. 23 -- Michelin North America will
sponsor the media center at the SEMA Show * ITE during Automotive Aftermarket
Industry Week.  The "nerve center" for press attendees will be at the Las
Vegas Convention Center and will be open the run of the show, Nov. 1 - 5, it
was announced by SEMA President Charles R. Blum.  The well-appointed suite
will be appropriately identified as the Michelin Media Center.
    More than 7,000 square feet have been designated for the center, which
will accommodate the working press covering AAIW and specifically the SEMA
Show * ITE '99.  The tire company-sponsored facility will provide a
comfortable work environment with a variety of essential resources to serve
the media visiting Las Vegas for the annual event.  The Michelin Media Center
will operate on the second level of the grand lobby at the Las Vegas
Convention Center in room N245.
    "Michelin is the ideal host of the SEMA Show * ITE media center," stated
Blum.  "The tire company has built a reputation as a premier resource to
automotive journalists worldwide at automotive shows and events.  The work
that Michelin has done in venues such as Detroit and Geneva puts them on the
map as a full-service provider; they know what the media needs to get their
jobs done and they make it available.
    "SEMA welcomes Michelin as an active participant in the giant SEMA Show *
ITE production," Blum continued.  "By doing so helps us raise the level of
professionalism to properly accommodate representatives of the media, our
valued communications experts."
    The Michelin center will incorporate a working area that includes a
computer center, desk spaces with electrical outlets and phones, individual
interview carrels, and conference room space.  A Michelin media desk will
provide general information, copier and facsimile services as well as reporter
notebooks and brochures.
    Show information will be available in abundance through exhibitor press
kits and press releases.  The AAIW Show Daily publication office will be in
the media center (sponsored by Aftermarket Business).
    Credentials will be available for pick up in the main registration area of
the show, located in the Silver Hall, or in the Michelin Media Center, at a
satellite registration site.  Members of the media may also register in
advance online at http://www.sema.org/press or by calling 909-396-0289,
ext. 158, to request a media registration form.
    Hospitality services will include catering and telephones (courtesy local
access only) in the lounge area.  Other services that will be provided in the
Las Vegas Convention Center include shipping services and a coat/bag check
through the Business Center located near the main entrance of the convention
center.
