Delphi Receives Honda of America Supplier Awards
    FLINT, Mich., Aug. 20 -- Delphi Automotive Systems
received Productivity Improvement Awards from Honda of America at
an award ceremony held on Wed., Aug. 18, at Delphi Energy & Engine Management
Systems headquarters in Flint, Mich.  The awards were for batteries,
generators and cruise motors Delphi supplies to Honda.  "These productivity
awards are testimony that members of Delphi and Honda are committed to working
together to develop and produce the highest-quality products for customers
worldwide," said Donald L. Runkle, president of Delphi Energy.
    To qualify for Honda's productivity award, a supplier must initiate an
activity that results in significant gains in productivity and efficiency.  In
addition, to be eligible for this award, the supplier must have high quality
and on-time delivery standards.
    "Honda of America selects supplier partners by examining their processes
and products to ensure that the supplier demonstrates functional excellence,"
said Cesar Penaherrera, vice president of purchasing for Honda of America.

demonstrated their commitment to these standards."
