Ford, Visteon Assist Earthquake Victims in Turkey
    DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 19 -- Ford Motor Company is
joining in rescue efforts to assist the victims of the recent earthquake in
Turkey.  Employees at Ford Otosan, the company's joint venture in Turkey, are
providing food packages, as well as establishing soup kitchens and medical
support sites.  They are also assisting in the rescue efforts involving
victims near the company's facilities.
    Ford Motor Company is supplying transportation, tents, blankets, and
satellite phones to aid the volunteers, and also is contributing $50,000 to
support Ford Otosan's efforts.  Visteon Automotive Systems is donating an
additional $20,000.
    The company is working with the Turkish Red Crescent Society -- the local
version of the American Red Cross.  Our hearts go out to the victims of this
tragedy, and we're striving to ensure the safety and well-being of our
employees, their families and the community.
