Larry D. Lyons Appointed to DaimlerChrysler PostAUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 18 -- DaimlerChrysler announces effective September 1, 1999, Mr. Larry D. Lyons is appointed Vice President - Small Car Platform Engineering, reporting to Bernard Robertson. In this position, Lyons is responsible for directing all product engineering activities for the small car platform. "We are especially pleased to have Larry join us because we believe he will provide a dedicated focus on engineering concepts and facilitating synergies between the small car platform engineering team and all other functions in the Extended Enterprise(R)," said Bernard Robertson, Senior Vice President - Engineering and Technology. "Lyons comes to us from General Motors where he had a very distinguished career." Lyons most recent assignment at General Motors was head of Engineering Vehicle Integration, for the North America Car Group. In that role, he was responsible for program execution of GM cars and minivans, integration of manufacturing processes and new technical initiatives. Throughout his career at GM, Lyons also held numerous other positions in engineering. Lyons replaces Cindy Hess who was appointed Vice President - Corporate Quality, reporting to Richard O. Schaum, Senior Vice President - Quality and Power Train Operations.
