John W. Cline Named Director of Engineering, CTS Reeves Frequency Products
ELKHART, Ind.--Aug. 18, 1999--John W. Cline has been named Director of Engineering for CTS Reeves Frequency Products, according to an announcement today by Douglas Rasmussen, Vice President and General Manager of CTS Reeves Frequency Products. Cline will have direct responsibility for Oscillator and Crystal Engineering, Research and Development, Document Control, and Test Systems at CTS Corporation's frequency products U.S. facilities in Sandwich, Illinois, and Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He will additionally manage the crystal and oscillator product design/engineering activities at CTS facilities in Canada, Scotland and Singapore. CTS Reeves Frequency Products sells a broad line of quartz-based crystal, clock oscillator and precision oscillator products for application in the communications equipment, computer equipment, instruments and controls and defense and aerospace markets.Mr. Cline received a B.S.E.E. degree from Ohio Technical College in 1972, a B.P.S. degree from Barry University in 1988, and an M.B.A. degree, also from Barry University, in 1990. Early in his business career, he worked in positions as Test Engineer and Test Design Supervisor, until 1983, when he accepted the position of Manager, Test Engineering, with Mitel Incorporated where he progressed to Director, Operations Engineering. In 1988, Cline joined Racal-Milgo as Manager, New Product Manufacturing Engineering, and from 1990 until 1994, he held the position of Manager, Manufacturing Technology with Ericsson General Electric. He joined Oak Frequency Control, Incorporated, a division of Oak Industries, in 1994 as Vice President of Engineering and in 1995, was named President of the division, a position he held until joining CTS.
Cline completed both ISO 9000 Certification Training and Oliver W. Wight JIT Training, has attended courses in JIT, MRP and the Phil Crosby Quality Education System Program, and has published several technical papers. He received a U.S. Patent for the design and development of a Voltage Monitor for In-Circuit Testing (No. 4,977,530). Mr. Cline is past National Chairman and Eastern Chairman of the ATE Users Group.
Mr. and Mrs. Cline, who have two grown sons, will be relocating to the Carlisle, Pennsylvania, area in the near future.
