Dana Corporation Named One of the World's 100 Best Managed Companies by Industry Week MagazineDana Also Recognized as Best of the Best In Automotive Industries Survey TOLEDO, Ohio, Aug. 18 -- Dana Corporation has been named one of the "World's 100 Best-Managed Companies" for the second straight year by Industry Week magazine. Dana was recognized for its emphasis on global growth, decentralization, and employee education programs. "Dana has long relied on a unique style of management that emphasizes trust in people, individual responsibility, decentralization in decision making, education, and continuous improvement. Receiving this honor for the second year in a row reaffirms our style of management," said Dana Chairman Southwood J. Morcott. Dana began 1998 as a company with 49,000 people and grew to a company of 86,000 people generating sales of $12.5 billion by the end of the year. In addition to this growth, 1998 was Dana's seventh straight year of record sales, and fifth straight year of record operating profits.
