Pep Boys Supporting Local Automotive Students in Connection With Opening New Stores in Portland Area
PHILADELPHIA--Aug. 18, 1999--Pep Boys is supporting automotive students at the Clark County Skills Center, in connection with the opening of three new Pep Boys Supercenters in the Portland area.Pep Boys will reimburse students who pass Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) tests.
ASE, a national non-profit organization, was founded in 1972 to help improve the quality of automotive service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive technicians.
"ASE certifications are the industry stamp of approval for service technicians nationwide," said Bill Furtkevic, Director of Marketing Communications for Pep Boys. "Supporting this program will help place talented individuals into career positions, and hopefully, help Pep Boys with its recruitment efforts."
