Myers Industries Acquires Listo Products; Continues Growth in Horticultural Container Business
AKRON, Ohio--Aug. 18, 1999--Myers Industries, Inc. (AMEX:MYE) today announced that it has purchased for cash all outstanding shares of Listo Products Ltd., of Canada. Listo is a well-known manufacturer and supplier of plastic horticultural containers in North America and had 1998 net sales of approximately $12 million."Through this acquisition, Myers Industries adds to its position in the horticultural market," said Stephen E. Myers, president and chief executive officer of Myers Industries. "Combined with our current line of outdoor planters and containers, Listo's indoor pots and planters complement the product base from which we service the needs of both retailers and consumers."
Founded in 1948, Listo Products Ltd. has headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Surrey, British Columbia. The company makes injection-molded flower pots, decorative planters, window boxes, hanging baskets, bowls, and nursery containers. Listo's products are sold at retail by garden centers and mass merchandisers in Canada and the United States.

The Listo purchase complements Myers' recent acquisition of the Dillen Products Companies, a leading manufacturer and distributor of plastic containers for growers at greenhouses and nurseries throughout North America.
