MyCarPage.com Debuts as Free Personalized Web Page for Car and Truck Buyers; Combination of Secretary, Filing Cabinet & Mechanic
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 17 -- The first personalized
consumer Web page was officially introduced to the public and auto industry
today as California-based Interval, Inc. unveiled MyCarPage.com. Designed to
improve customer-to-dealer communications, MyCarPage.com is a free custom-made
Web page dealers give to customers that provides everything from maintenance
schedules and coupons to traffic/weather reports and Kelley Blue Book values.
"MyCarPage.com is a combination secretary, filing cabinet and mechanic for
car and truck owners," says Interval President and founder Michael Moskowitz.
"Now consumers can save money through dealer coupons and specials and can find
car-ownership to be more convenient, economical and enjoyable."
"MyCarPage.com helps dealers capture and retain lost service and repair
business -- annually totaling more than $100 billion throughout the
industry -- by establishing ongoing consumer-dealer contact," says Interval
Vice President, Sales & Marketing Tom Nitch. "They can increase profits,
bolster customer loyalty and repeat business. Meanwhile, by supplying easy
access to useful information that dealer's can tailor for specific customer
profiles, MyCarPage.com keeps consumers informed and motivated to keep their
vehicle properly maintained."
MyCarPage.com separates itself from other "personalized" auto Web pages
through Interval's direct relationships with consumers and dealers. Instead
of selling consumer information to dealers, MyCarPage.com is an adjunct to
dealers' existing customer service programs, providing consumer-by-consumer
databases that create individualized messages and programs for specific
vehicle owners.
Here's how MyCarPage.com works: Using dealer information, Interval creates
a personal vehicle Web page for each of the dealer's sales and service
customers. Customers are then notified about the creation of their Web page
that is adapted to match their individual driving habits and organize all
pertinent vehicle information. MyCarPage.com opens previously unexplored
Web-based communication channels between dealers and customers, relaying
personalized vehicle histories, pricing specials, service bulletins and more.
MyCarPage.com was introduced to the investment community in June at
VentureNet 99*, the annual Internet and software venture capital conference,
where Interval received "Best of Show" honors for its innovative product and
presentation by company founder Moskowitz. Two months later, MyCarPage.com is
in the market, being showcased to auto dealers, manufacturers and the public.
Interval specializes in the development of Internet services aimed at
building customer relations. MyCarPage.com, its initial proprietary product,
is an innovative, customized personal vehicle Web page that makes it easy and
economical for consumers to track all of their automotive needs, while
allowing dealers to identify their best customers by service frequency and
average spending. The result is improved customer satisfaction, loyalty and
profitability for the company.

*At VentureNet 99, the product was known as Service Advisor Plus. For its
public introduction, it was changed to MyCarPage.com.
