Goodyear Unveils All-New Global Web Site
    AKRON, Ohio, Aug. 16 -- Looking to make the tire industry's
best web site even easier to use, Goodyear today unveiled an all-new
goodyear.com .
    "We've reorganized our content and architecture to make it easier for
visitors to find the information they want, whether they're consumers shopping
for tires, industrial customers looking for power transmission belts or an
investor in search of the latest news on the company," said Pam Bertino,
Goodyear's global web site manager.
    "Plus, as a global company, more and more of our web site's visitors come
from outside of the United States.  We've redesigned the home page so visitors
can select a country and see information about products sold in their country
and read about them in their language," she added.  "We have created sites for
11 different countries and have many others in development.  They'll be added
in the coming weeks."
    The corporate web site, http://www.goodyear.com , also includes sections on the
tiremaker's racing program, news releases, career opportunities and the world-
famous Goodyear blimp.
    First launched in March 1995, Goodyear's web site was the tire industry's
first outpost on the Internet.  It has won numerous awards and has been
recognized as one of the best business sites in the world.
