CTS Corporation Consolidates Business Units to Strengthen Resources - Enhance Growth Opportunities

    ELKHART, Ind.--Aug. 16, 1999--CTS Corporation announced that effective August 16, 1999, its Electrocomponents business which, in part, designs and manufactures variable resistor, encoder and switch products, will be integrated into CTS' Resistor Products business to form a unified strategic business "CTS Resistor/Electrocomponents."
    Simultaneously, CTS Electrocomponents' loudspeaker and electromechanical assembly products will be integrated into CTS' Automotive Products business.
    All customer support personnel and manufacturing facilities will remain unaffected. Commenting on the consolidations, Bing Harding, Group Vice President, CTS Corporation stated: "Today's actions will improve the synergy, focus, manufacturing resources and technical capabilities of the integrated CTS businesses and will enhance the Company's capability to develop new products that address the advanced market requirements of the future."
