ANCO Joins Family of Federal-Mogul Brands Making Mark In NASCAR Competition
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 16 -- At the beginning of the 1998
racing season, Federal-Mogul Corporation's NASCAR involvement
consisted of an associate sponsorship of one Winston Cup entry.
This year, the Southfield-based automotive parts giant can be found --
through its growing family of brands -- on virtually every vehicle in NASCAR
competition. From ANCO wiper blades to Champion spark plugs, Moog chassis
products to Fel-Pro gaskets, Wagner brake products to Sealed Power engine
parts, Federal-Mogul brands and technologies now cover more ground during a
NASCAR event than virtually any other parts manufacturer.
"ANCO is bringing advanced wiper blade technology to NASCAR competitors in
much the same way as other Federal-Mogul brands and technologies have made
their mark in this highly competitive arena," said Federal-Mogul Brand Manager
Michael Smith. "Our products have earned their way into the engines, chassis
setups, fuel systems and, now, onto the windshields, of leading vehicles. And
these same technologies are available for millions of passenger vehicles
worldwide."
Fel-Pro gaskets, the officially licensed gaskets of NASCAR, are the
overwhelming choice of championship engine builders. The same solution-based
engineering that has made Fel-Pro the dominant sealing brand in motorsports is
available to the tens of thousands of repair technicians who specify Fel-Pro
for their customers' vehicles.
Moog chassis parts, the officially licensed steering and suspension
components of NASCAR, have been equally dominant among racers and aftermarket
professionals. In fact, for the past 33 years Moog has been the brand of ball
joint on all NASCAR Winston Cup championship cars.
Wagner brake products, manufactured by the world leader in brake pads,
have enjoyed widespread use by leading NASCAR competitors. Winning race teams
have installed Wagner master cylinders since their introduction more than 35
years ago, and Wagner DOT 4 brake fluid has become one of the most popular
fluids on the circuit.
Champion, the world's favorite spark plug, has earned the loyalty of
NASCAR competitors through decades of superior performance. Champion's NASCAR
programs include associate sponsorship of the Nos. 18 and 20 Pontiacs driven
by Bobby Labonte and Tony Stewart, respectively, on the Winston Cup circuit,
and contingency postings in Winston Cup, Busch Grand National and Craftsman
Truck competition.
Engineered to last, Sealed Power engine parts joins Champion spark plugs,
Carter carburetors and fuel pumps and PowerPath spark plug wires and battery
cables on the No. 77 JASPER/Federal-Mogul Ford driven by Robert Pressley.
In addition to NASCAR competition, ANCO, Champion, Fel-Pro, Sealed Power,
Moog and Wagner products will play prominent roles in the national "Good To
Go!" Systems Check promotion from Federal-Mogul. Thousands of vehicle repair
operations across North America are offering a full range of Federal-Mogul
"Good To Go!" vehicle inspections -- covering brakes, alignment, engine, tune-
up and visibility -- to help consumers ensure their driving safety.
Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, Federal-Mogul is an automotive
parts manufacturer providing innovative solutions and systems to global
customers in the automotive, light truck, heavy-duty, railroad, farm and
industrial markets. The company was founded in 1899. Visit the company's web
