Lee Iacocca Announces Appointment of Moore Buick Pontiac GMC as New EV Global Motors Dealer

    LOS GATOS, Calif.--Aug. 13, 1999--Lee Iacocca, Chairman and CEO of EV Global Motors Company, announced the appointment of John Moore and Moore Buick Pontiac GMC to sell and service a full line of electric vehicles.
    Mr. Iacocca founded EV Global Motors Company to develop and market light electric vehicles, and recently introduced their first product--an electric bicycle named the E-Bike(TM).
    The E-Bike(TM) is considered the most advanced electric bicycle in the world. Features include a strong, lightweight chromoly steel frame that can be powered by pedaling like a conventional bicycle. However, with a flick of a thumb-operated throttle the E-Bike(TM) becomes a motorized vehicle. The energy source is a detachable 24-volt lead acid battery system that powers the 400-watt, hub-mounted motor at speeds up to 15 mph over a 20-mile range.
    The E-Bike(TM) is virtually maintenance free, and requires no fuel. An onboard charging system allows it to be plugged into any 110-volt household outlet with full recharge taking about four hours. The batteries last over 350 cycles, which translates into several thousand miles. Standard features include cruise control, front suspension, adjustable gel-seat, horn and lighting. Front-disk brakes are optional.

Our observations of excessive traffic, smog and noise made us realize that we could greatly expand the bicycles potential to help solve these problems.     Moore Buick is located at 15500 Los Gatos Boulevard in Los Gatos, California. The dealership was established in 1951 and is the oldest continuously operating Buick dealer in the South San Francisco Bay Area and Santa Clara/Silicon Valley. President John Moore later added the Pontiac and GM Truck brands, plus now the E-Bike(TM) products by EV Global Motors Company.
