Prudential Reduces Rates for California Drivers
HOLMDEL, NJ--August 13, 1999--Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company (PRUPAC) is reducing Auto insurance rates in California by an average of 15.2 percent statewide. Some California drivers will enjoy reductions of as much as 30 percent."We're delighted to lower prices for our Auto policyholders in California for the second time in about a year. When combined with last year's 12.3 percent average statewide reduction, the savings to our policyholders are especially substantial," said Ed Rafter, PRUPAC President. "Not only are we offering lower prices, but our customers will find we've made terrific improvements to our customer service. State of the art technology enhances our claims handling process and makes it easier for our customers to do business with us -- and that's our primary goal."
The price reduction takes effect on August 13 for new Auto policies, Rafter notes. Customers with existing policies will start seeing their savings as their policies renew on or after August 13.
In addition, a variety of discounts may help to lower Prudential premiums even further for California drivers. For example, the company's Companion for Life Discount can lower premiums by 5 percent in certain cases for customers who have both Auto and Life policies with Prudential. The company also offers Companion Policy Discounts of up to 20 percent for customers who have Auto, Life and Home policies with Prudential.
In another new development, Prudential now offers a Companion Policy Discount of 5 percent to customers who have both Renter and Auto policies with the company.
Other premium-saving discounts are available for safety devices, anti-theft devices, driver training, good student, defensive driver, and multi-car coverage.
In addition to auto coverage, PRUPAC offers Homeowners, Condominium, Renters, Dwelling Fire, Personal Liability and Boat insurance as well as policies for some recreational vehicles to California residents.
Prudential provides coverage for nearly 30,000 autos and almost 67,000 homes and sells personal lines products and life insurance and annuities through about 850 agents in the state.
