Gregory R. Grodhaus Named President of SPX's INRANGE Technologies Unit
    MUSKEGON, Mich., Aug. 13 -- SPX Corporation today
announced that it has named Gregory R. Grodhaus as President of its INRANGE
Technologies business unit.
    Mr. Grodhaus joins SPX from Amdahl Corporation where he was Senior Vice
President, Chief Marketing Officer.  Prior to joining Amdahl, he was President
and CEO of IPL Systems.  He also spent a number of years with Memorex/Telex
Corporation including eight years as Vice President and General Manager of the
Midrange Systems and Storage Groups.
    A graduate of Southern Methodist University, Mr. Grodhaus holds a Bachelor
of Business Administration degree in Finance and Marketing.
    INRANGE Technologies designs and manufactures ESCON Channel Directors;
channel extension products; Fibre Channel switches; wave division multiplexing
systems; communications switches for WAN/LAN; and performance monitoring and
testing systems for telecommunications networks.
