Biography: Annabelle Gurwitch to Star in Ford Focus CommercialsDEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 12 -- Annabelle Gurwitch will star in 64 live television commercials for the all new Ford Focus. In this unprecedented role, she will combine her comedic abilities with her journalistic talent. Traveling to unusual locations and covering interesting events, Annabelle will be seen during Network prime time programming September through March 2000. In addition to her exciting new commitment with Ford, Anabelle is in her fourth season of hosting TBS's popular Friday night series "Dinner & A Movie." She was nominated for a prestigious Ace award as "Best Entertainment Host" alongside Bill Maher, Chris Rock, Dennis Miller and Craig Kilborn, the only woman in that category. This was her second Ace nomination, having been nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series when she anchored HBO's award- winning Not Necessarily The News for two seasons. On "Dinner & A Movie," Annabelle performs sketch comedy, attempts to cook theme dishes based on the movies, and has traded repartee with numerous guests including Joan Cusak, Kathy Griffen and Kesley Grammer. Since attending New York University, Annabelle has had a busy acting career. Her stage appearances include the recent off-Broadway revival of Wendy Wasserstein's "Uncommon Women and Others." In addition to her series roles on television, she has been a guest on more than thirty episodic shows including "Seinfeld", "Suddenly Susan", "Murphy Brown", "China Beach" and "Tales from the Crypt". Most recent film credits include a leading role in the Family Channel telefilm "Lovestruck" with Costas Mandylor, starring opposite Patrick Stewart in Masterminds for Columbia, and performing in supporting roles in "One Night Stand", "Till There Was You", "Mousehunt", and independent films "Goosed" and "Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss". Writing and performing as a journalist, Annabelle has worked for Buzz, Premiere, Los Angeles Magazine, VH1 Inside Music, and HBO's Entertainment News. She is currently a regular contributor to Cooking Light Magazine where she writes about dating, Zen and her chocolate obsession. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband and son.
