Textron Automotive Receives Two Automotive Industries' 1999 Quest for Excellence Awards
    TROY, Mich., Aug. 12 -- For the second consecutive year,
Textron Automotive Company has been named recipient of Automotive Industries'
Quest for Excellence awards in the Body Exterior and Interior categories for
1999.  Textron Automotive was one of only three automotive suppliers
recognized for excellence in both categories.

customers and peers as being a premier, global supplier of interior and
exterior components and systems solutions," said Sam Licavoli, chairman,
president and CEO of Textron Automotive Company.  "Continuous improvement has

tremendous honor in that it recognizes the quality relationship we have built
within the automotive community and signifies our position as a global
supplier for the future."
    The Quest for Excellence award is the only industry-wide quality
recognition program based on the results from AI's magazine reader survey.
Approximately 1,800 of Automotive Industries readers involved in design,
engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and management responded to the survey
ranking current and past suppliers in five different areas: quality, price,
service, delivery and innovation.  This year, a total of 107 suppliers in 19
categories earned this prestigious award.
    Textron Automotive Trim President Bill Maclean accepted the award, on
behalf of Textron Automotive, at a special dinner ceremony held last night at
The Ritz Carlton in Dearborn, Michigan.
