LDM Technologies Announces Third Quarter Earnings

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 11 -- LDM Technologies, Inc.
reports net sales for its third quarter ended June 27, 1999 (third quarter
1999) were $143.2 million, a decrease of $1.0 million, or 0.7%, from the third
quarter of FY1998.  Third quarter 1999 net sales were comprised of $120.1
million of automotive product sales, and $23.1 million of mold sales.  The
sales decline is primarily the result of the Company's sale of its blowmolding
division to DBM Technologies LLC.
    Operating profit was $10.2 million or 7.1% of net sales for the third
quarter of 1999 compared to $8.5 million, 5.9% of net sales for the same
period in 1998.  The increase was due to improved operating efficiencies in
the Company's remaining North American facilities.
    Interest expense was $5.1 million for the third quarter 1999 compared to
$5.4 million for the third quarter 1998.  The decreased interest expense was
primarily due to the sale of the Company's blowmolding division.
    Net income for the third quarter 1999 was $2.6 million, or 1.8% of net
sales compared to $1.6 million, or 1.1% of net sales, in the third quarter
1998.
    EBITDA for the third quarter 1999 was $15.3 million compared to $13.2
million for the third quarter 1998.  The increase is due to improved operating
efficiencies at the Company's remaining North American facilities.
