ADP Collision Repair Services Becomes First Provider to Offer Default to ``Two-Stage'' Paint Times for Body Shop Estimating System
SAN RAMON, Calif.--Aug. 10, 1999--ADP Collision Repair Services (CRS), a leading provider of software solutions for the collision repair industry, has further enhanced its software and now provides an automatic default to "two-stage" painting times with the latest release of Shoplink(TM) for Windows(R), ADP's leading collision repair estimating system. The release of ADP's Shoplink 6.1 marks the first time that any information provider has changed the refinish default to two-stage paint for both the interior and exterior surfaces of repaired vehicles.
"When ADP introduced computerized collision estimating in the U.S., the collision repair industry used nothing but single-stage paint, so ADP built its system with single-stage paint times as the system default," explained Rick Tuuri, director of industry relations for San Ramon-based ADP Claims Solutions Group.
"Since that time, two-stage has become the standard for collision repair, so we changed our system to default to two-stage paint times in Shoplink 6.1. Both interior and exterior surfaces can be selected to reflect the appropriate type of repair needed."
Shoplink for Windows is an automated collision estimating system designed specifically for the needs of a growing collision repair operation. The backbone of the system is the ADP Collision Estimating Database, which over the last 20 years has proved itself as the accepted source of electronic repair information for estimate preparation.
Shoplink displays interactive, on-screen graphics that link labor, part and price information from the ADP Collision Estimating Database to the body shop's estimate. This allows a collision repairer to quickly write an estimate by simply pointing and clicking on the graphics.
