Michigan State AFL-CIO President Comments on Loss of Jack LaskowskiLANSING, Mich., Aug. 9 -- Michigan State AFL-CIO President Frank Garrison today issued the following statement concerning the death Sunday of UAW Vice President Jack Laskowski: "Workers in Michigan have lost a great warrior with the death of Jack Laskowski. He was a tremendous fighter for workers because he never forgot his own union roots. "Jack worked hard to better the lives of not just UAW members and not just union members, but all people who labor for a living. Jack was a dedicated union leader, but most importantly he was a good and decent man who loved his family and loved life. "On behalf of the over 600,000 working men and women of the Michigan State AFL-CIO, I want to extend condolences to Jack's wife Sally; their sons Greg, Tim and Mike; and their families. They are in our thoughts and prayers."
