Johnston Appointed General Manager, Vehicles Logistics and Distribution for Mercedes-Benz USAMONTVALE, N.J., Aug. 9 -- Mercedes-Benz USA, Inc. (MBUSA) has announced the appointment of Mark Johnston to general manager, vehicle logistics and distribution at the company's Montvale, N.J., headquarters. Johnston replaces Ralph Fisher, who has been promoted to the newly created position of general manager, strategic marketing projects for MBUSA. In his new position, Johnston will be responsible for allocation and distribution of new vehicles; transportation of new vehicles from plants to retailers; and overseeing operation of vehicle Preparation Centers. Johnston joined MBUSA in 1988 and has held numerous positions including regional used car merchandising manager; regional finance lease or pre-owned manager; regional marketing manager; product manager, specialty cars; franchise development manager; and manager, retail network. Johnston has more than 30 years of automotive experience including parts, service, new and pre-owned sales and sales management. From 1978 to 1988, Johnston was general manager of MHI Autocenter in Iowa City, Iowa. Johnston holds a B.B.A. from the University of Iowa. He resides in Warwick, N.Y. with his wife Linda. They have four children.
