Delco Remy International Unit Receives Automotive Industries' Quest for Excellence Award
    ANDERSON, Ind., Aug. 9 -- Delco Remy America, a subsidiary of
Delco Remy International , has been named by Automotive Industries
magazine as "Best of the Best" in the Electrical Systems category in the
magazine's "2nd Annual Quest for Excellence."
    DRA President Richard L. Stanley stated, "We are pleased with the positive
response from our customers.  This validates that our efforts to provide Best-
In-Class quality, value and responsiveness are paying off."
    The survey asks OEM readers to judge their suppliers on how they perform
in five areas:

    Quality:  Consistently meets or exceeds the customer's standards
    Price:  Meets or exceeds the targeted pricing requirements.
    Innovation:  Continuously suggests innovative concepts and solutions.
    Delivery:  Provides consistent, dependable delivery of prototypes,
               products, materials and services.
    Service:  Responds quickly and effectively to customer demands.

    Delco Remy America was rated by its OEM suppliers as the "Best of the
Best," placing second in a group of five "Best of the Best" companies in the
Electrical Systems category.  The recipients will receive their awards at a
special dinner hosted by Automotive Industries and Price Waterhouse Coopers in
August.
    Delco Remy International, Inc., headquartered in Anderson, Indiana (USA),
