    BELLE PLAINE, Minn.--August 6, 1999--Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycle Manufacturing Company today announced that Thomas Rootness has resigned as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President to pursue other business opportunities. Mr. Rootness' responsibilities will be temporarily assumed by Daniel Hanlon, Co-Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer, and Randy Strobel, Director of Finance, until a new CFO is named.
    "We regret that Tom has decided to leave Excelsior-Henderson," stated Co-Founders Dan, Dave and Jennie Hanlon, "but appreciate his contribution during his three plus years with the Company." "A search is currently in progress to find a replacement," added the Hanlons.
