Renault Continues its Investments in SDRC's Metaphase Enterprise; SDRC's Product Data Management Software Used to Reduce Costs, Improve Quality Worldwide

    CINCINNATI--Aug. 5, 1999--SDRC , a leading global supplier of enterprise product development solutions and developer of I-DEAS(R) and Metaphase(R) Enterprise(TM) software, announced that Renault continues its investments in SDRC's Metaphase Enterprise software bringing its investment to $1.7 million since December 1998.
    Renault and SDRC started working together in data management in 1996 when Renault first selected Metaphase for its Geometric Data Management (GDG) project. By June 1998, the Metaphase software was in production with over 800 users to design new vehicles. Today, the number of production users is 2,300.
    Renault uses Metaphase worldwide for all product definition data sharing and management, including its sites in France, Brazil, Spain and other locations. Renault is continuing its partnership with SDRC by using Metaphase software to reach its goals of reduced costs, faster time-to-market, and increased new vehicle quality.
