Best-Ever July Sales Reported By Toyota's Cincinnati RegionCINCINNATI, Aug. 5 -- Toyota's Cincinnati Region posted best-ever July car sales of 8,880, a seven percent increase over July 1998 when sales totaled 8,337. "Our North-American built Toyota Camry contributed to our strong performance," said Mike Reding, general manager of the Cincinnati Region. Camry had a sales increase of 11 percent and Toyota's best-selling SUV, the 4Runner, posted an impressive sales increase of 42 percent over last year. Another best-ever record for the region was the combined car and truck sales of 10,413, a nine percent increase over the 9,560 vehicles sold last July. Toyota's new entry into the full-size truck market, the Tundra, built in Gibson County, Ind., is bringing new truck buyers into the dealerships and continues to have the best sales debut for any Toyota or Lexus vehicle. The Toyota Cincinnati Region includes 118 dealers in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.
