Jay Caraviello Named President of SPX'S Lightnin Unit

Jay Caraviello Named President of SPX'S Lightnin Unit
    MUSKEGON, Mich., Aug. 4 -- SPX Corporation today
announced that it has named Jay Caraviello as President of its Lightnin
business unit.
    Mr. Caraviello joined SPX Corporation in 1997 and most recently was
General Manager of the company's Automotive Diagnostics business.  Prior to
joining SPX, he spent 12 years in sales, marketing and product management
positions at GE Plastics.  He graduated from the University of Massachusetts
and received his Masters degree from Purdue University.
    Commenting on the announcement, John B. Blystone, Chairman, President and
Chief Executive Officer said, "Jay's leadership has been instrumental in the
repositioning of the Automotive Diagnostics unit and transitioning it into the
Service Solutions business.  I am confident Jay and the Lightnin team will
continue to leverage its market leadership position to grow the business."
