TI Group Names Global Management Team for New Auto Unit; Jim Davis Will Head North American Automotive OperationsTRAVERSE CITY, Mich., Aug. 4 -- UK-based TI Group has named a senior management team for its newly formed global automotive systems organization. Jim Davis has been appointed president of North American Operations, according to Allan Welsh, chief executive of TI Group Automotive Systems. Davis joined TI Group in 1997 as president of Bundy North America. TI Group Automotive Systems combines Bundy with Walbro Corporation, a recent $570-million TI Group acquisition, to form the auto industry's largest single supplier of fluid handling systems, including brake, fuel, powertrain and refrigeration systems. TI Group's automotive unit would have had 1998 annual revenues of more than $2.2 billion with 20,000 employees at 150 facilities around the world. Also reporting directly to Welsh are: * Dan Cook, commercial director * Andrew Masterman, President of Engine Management * Walter Serer, president of Latin American Operations * Tony Martin, president of Asia Pacific Operations * Chris Kinsella, finance director * Ron McIntosh, technology director * Malcolm Aitken, chief executive of Refrigeration Davis and Cook, formerly commercial director for Bundy's global operations, will be located in the Detroit area. Masterman, previously president of Walbro Corporation's Asia Pacific organization, will be headquartered in Tucson, Arizona. Serer previously headed Bundy's Latin American operations and will be located in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Kinsella, McIntosh and Aitken also held similar positions at Bundy and will have their offices at TI Group's UK-headquarters in Abington. A director of human resources and a managing director for the automotive group's Europe Operations will be named shortly. Welsh noted TI Group is integrating Walbro's fuel-storage systems business with its existing Bundy fuel and vapor line activities to create a unique global supplier of complete fuel storage and delivery systems. "Our new fuel systems business will operate alongside Bundy's brake line, powertrain and refrigeration fluid-carrying activities to give us a strong leadership position in automotive fluid management systems," Welsh said. "The announcement of our new management team is the beginning of a new era for TI Group and its automotive business. "Recognizing the value of the Bundy and Walbro brands in the marketplace, we will continue to market these names. The formation of TI Group Automotive Systems will accelerate our growth and contribute to improved shareholder value for TI Group."
