Daewoo Continues to Increase Sales in July
    COMPTON, Calif., Aug. 3 -- Daewoo Motor America achieved a
seventh consecutive month of growth in automobile sales for the month of July.
This was accomplished as a result of continued strong product acceptance by
the public and on-going aggressive expansion of its retail network in the U.S.
    Sales for July were announced by Daewoo at 3,379 units, bringing
year-to-date total to 14,383. For the 25-day sales period, sales by model
were as follows:  1,046 Lanos sub-compact models; 1,063 Nubira compact models;
and 1,270 Leganza mid-size models.
    Daewoo now has a total of 100 retail sales outlets in operation versus
77 in June, for a growth of 30%. The network includes 37 company owned retail
stores and 63 franchised dealers with coverage in 31 states.
    Daewoo Motor America is the U.S. automotive sales arm of Daewoo Group
based in Seoul, South Korea.
