BMW Sales Drive New Records; July Sales Jump 19 Percent; Year-to-Date Sales Up 17 Percent
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Aug. 3 -- BMW of North America, Inc.
continues to set records, reporting sales of 13,298 automobiles for the best
July in its history. That's an increase of 19.4 percent over the
11,139 automobiles sold last July. BMW also reported the company's strongest
year-to-date sales of 91,401 automobiles, compared to 78,008 a year ago, an
increase of 17 percent.
Sales were up across all model lines, with strong sales reported in the
Roadster models (an increase of 27 percent); the 3 Series (an increase of
23 percent) and the 5 Series models (18 percent).
Land Rover North America, Inc. reported July sales of 2,135 vehicles,
compared to 1,768 a year ago, an increase of 21 percent. Year-to-date sales
jumped 33 percent, to 15,697 vehicles. Land Rover reported year-to-date
sales of 11,821 a year ago.
Consolidated July sales for the BMW Group jumped 20 percent to
15,433 (BMW: 13,298; Land Rover: 2,135) and consolidated year-to-date sales
increased 19 percent to 107,098 vehicles (BMW: 91,401; Land Rover 15,697).
