Holiday RV Superstores to Upgrade & Expand South Carolina Dealership at New LocationORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 2 -- Holiday RV Superstores, Inc. today announced it has begun construction on a new, upscale recreational vehicle and boat dealership in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Orlando, Fla.-based retailer of RVs and marine crafts said the new 34,000-square-foot facility, located on a recently purchased 19-acre site adjacent to Interstate 26, will feature an upgraded customer showroom and an expanded service area with 16 service bays. The total cost of the project, including construction and land-acquisition costs, is estimated at $2.2 million. The new location will replace Holiday RV's current leased dealership in nearby Greenville, S.C. "The growth in the overall RV and boat markets, as well as the trend toward more upscale products necessitates that we keep pace with customer demand," said Hardee McAlhaney, chief executive officer of Holiday RV Superstores. "The new facility will enable us to better merchandise our RV and boat products, and allow us to offer more timely service to motorhome travelers along I-26, which is one of the busiest interstate routes in the Southeast." Construction, which commences this week, is expected to be completed next spring. The new dealership will encompass nine acres on the site. Holiday RV Superstores said it would use the additional land for future dealership expansion or other development. McAlhaney concluded: "This expansion is a small, but important step as we apply Holiday RV's proven operating expertise to Atlas Recreational's aggressive plans to consolidate the fragmented RV and boat dealership markets." Atlas Recreational Holdings, Inc., a Florida-based investment group, acquired a controlling interest in Holiday RV earlier this month.
